Complements weekly Jacksonville sailings

To meet the needs of its customers shipping to the Bahamas, Crowley Maritime Corporation's liner services group will add a second weekly, fixed-day sailing from Port Everglades to Nassau effective May 2. The new schedule will serve the Bahamas twice a week from Port Everglades sailing on Tuesday and Sunday, and Jacksonville once a week sailing on Friday. Vessels arrive in Nassau next day.

The Wesertor, a 230-teu, Lift On/Lift Off (Lo/Lo) ship will continue to service the route, but a change in vessel rotation will effectively add 115 feus to Crowley's weekly capacity to the Bahamas, including 48 refrigerated container slots.

"Crowley is committed to expanding the South Florida trade to the Bahamas," said Rudy Leming, vice president, Bahamas and Caribbean island services. "Our additional sailing will give shippers more options and increased flexibility with their supply chains."
