Crowley Maritime Corporation announced today that Azucena Hernandez has been promoted to general manager of Crowley's liner services operations in El Salvador. In her new position, Hernandez reports to John Hourihan, senior vice president and general manager, Latin American, and is responsible for coordinating all sales, marketing and operations for the country.

Additionally, Hernandez oversees the development of policies and procedures, reviews operating results, establishes annual revenue, capital and cost budgets, has profit and loss responsibility and coordinates and negotiates outside contractor and service provider agreements. Hernandez will also interface with other company functions including legal, labor relations and risk management while developing and maintaining business relations with customers.

Hernandez joined Crowley's predecessor company CCT in Honduras in 1982. Her entire career has been with Crowley where she has held various positions of increasing responsibility in sales, documentation and freight services. Prior to her promotion, she served as manager of terminal operations in Honduras.

'Azucena's leadership approach has always strongly embraced Crowley's core values in getting the job done,' said Hourihan. 'In her 20-plus years, she has proven herself time and time again to be an asset to the company and a player in the growth of our Latin America service.'
