Atlanta, GA – Dachser SE, parent company of Dachser USA Air & Sea Logistics Inc., is expanding globally. The company recently announced new facilities will be built in Austria, France, and Germany, strengthening its contract logistics operations across Europe. Integrated logistics services including transport, warehousing, and value-added services will be available in more locations worldwide. “By offering a full range of contract logistics services, we also support our customers in their global supply chain management process,” says Michael Schilling, Chief Operations Officer Road Logistics (COO) at Dachser. At the end of June 2016, the family-owned company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of its logistics center in Austria, which will be operational in early 2017 with around 33,000 square feet of storage space. In France, Dachser chose to expand the warehousing capabilities in two locations – Salon de Provence, in the Alpes Côte d’Azur region of Southern France and the city of Reims in the north. In Germany, Dachser expanded the Ueberherrn Logistics Center and Eurohub to include a contract logistics warehouse offering 36,000 square feet of space. The new facility will be operational at the end of October allowing the company to combine European overland transport with intercontinental routes and seamlessly interlink sea and air freight for both imports and exports. “Together with our colleagues on site, we are working hard to internationalize Dachser’s contract logistics,” says Alexander Tonn, who heads this department for the company. “These investments demonstrate how successfully our contract logistics operations have developed in recent years.” In the USA, Dachser currently provides its customers with over 350,000 square feet of space in five major cities: Memphis, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami and Charlotte and delivers customers with a full service approach, offering access to worldwide air and sea logistics. For Dachser’s customers, this expansion allows services to generate form a single source: warehousing and customized services as an integral part of contract logistics, direct connections to a comprehensive European transport network, and air and sea freight services. Dachser is on pace to expand to 25 offices in the USA by 2020, meeting the need for growing consumer demand, along with the overall growth of the company. Dachser currently serves a dense network of 428 locations across the world.
