Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) has advised that port dues and tonnage charges for 2017/18 at the ports of Dampier and Port Hedland will increase by 17% from 1 October. No other port charges are affected. This follows the PPA’s annual review of port pricing, and the decision is supported by the Western Australian Government in light of the significant economic and budget challenges facing the States. PPA prices have remained constant since 1 July 2014. Under the current use-pays system, contractually based services such as water and electricity charges remain as “pass through’ costs to customers. These costs are subject to change. The PPA will advise of any such prices if they are levied by service providers. Source: GAC
