IANA lobbies for the intermodal industry, helps shape policies, educates and develops recommended practices. President of C.A.T., Daniel Goyette explains, “We are very pleased that Derrick is in a position to help shape the intermodal industry beyond our walls. He is very knowledgeable and has been a tremendous boost to our presence in the USA. He is building a strong team at our Columbus, Ohio location and has recently brought on industry leaders in appliances and tires as customers utilizing all of the Canadian ramps, particularly the new CSX offering in Valleyfield.” Founded in 1991, IANA operates out of Calverton, MD. It’s comprised of 1,000 member representatives from railroads, motor carriers, logistics firms, marine and suppliers to the intermodal industry. Derrick Broome comments, “Since joining C.A.T. Global as VP Intermodal, I am very pleased with the progress we’ve made. We have developed a mix of national accounts and spot moves that has allowed us to grow our business in the U.S. and Canadian markets. This appointment to the IANA board gives me the opportunity to network and stay on top of trends and events affecting intermodal transportation. I believe I am at a stage in my career that I can both give back to the industry and better advise our customers of the many advantages of intermodal transport. I am very thankful to the IANA membership for this opportunity to participate.”
