Expansion adds 200,000 square feet of warehouse capacity, including addition of ambient and temperature-controlled space ELIZABETH, NJ - East Coast Warehouse & Distribution, a leading temperature-controlled logistics provider to the food and beverage industry, announced today it has expanded its Jersey City, NJ facility by adding 200,000 square feet of warehousing space, including the addition of a temperature-controlled and ambient area. The expansion comes in response to an increase both in customer demand and in the amount of inventory moving through both the Jersey City facility and its Port of New York/New Jersey headquarters in Elizabeth, NJ. “Food and beverage manufacturers continue to rely heavily on their logistics providers to help improve sales by ensuring supply chains are operating efficiently and seamlessly. This translates into an increase in volume,” said Jamie Overley, CEO of East Coast Warehouse. “The Jersey City expansion will enable East Coast Warehouse to keep pace with the steady rise in consumer demand and to continue to provide the service and attention to detail that our customers have come to expect from us.” East Coast Warehouse has been a leading provider of temperature-controlled logistics services for more than 60 years. From opening a new location in Philadelphia at the end of 2016 to receiving and maintaining the Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification from the FDA, the company continues to look for ways to increase its offering and footprint, and has plans for additional expansion for 2018 and beyond. The company was recently recognized as one of the Top 3PL & Cold Storage Providers for 2017 by Food Logistics Magazine, and received the 2017 Supply & Demand Chain Executive Green Supply Chain Award for its ongoing commitment to sustainability and its work in driving sustainable improvements in the supply chain.
