Evergreen Marine Corporation has been named Best Shipping Line - Intra Asia for the second consecutive year at the Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) 2006.
The AFSCA award is significant in that it is voted for by the readership of leading regional freight newspaper Cargonews Asia, which represents shippers from across Asia. Said Arnold Wang, president of Evergreen Marine Corp.:
"To receive this award is a great honor for Evergreen. That the ongoing efforts we put into developing our intra-Asia network are appreciated by our customers is both encouraging and motivating."
Lee Hock-Saing, Executive Vice President of Evergreen Marine Corp. (Malaysia), was presented with the award by Stephen White, Director, Marine Solutions, Thermo King Asia Pacific at a ceremony recently in Kuala Lumpur.
AFSCA is the latest in a string of awards for the Evergreen Group. In February, Group Chairman Dr. Chang Yung-Fa was recognized for his lifetime achievement by international shipping daily Lloyd's List. Hatsu Marine Limited, the Group's UK shipping company, has been awarded the coveted Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2006 in the UK.
