The Board of Directors of the Clinton County Port Authority recently announced that Dan Evers has been selected to be the new Executive Director. A seasoned public official with significant economic development background, Evers brings a wealth of experience to the Port Authority to continue its work in Clinton County. “He is familiar with Port Authorities and the financing options they have,” said current Port Authority Chairman David Hockaday. Retiring Executive Director Kevin Carver added, “His significant background in economic development and senior level government management will be important to the Port Authority and the community.” Evers leaves the position of Director of GROW Licking County Community Improvement Corporation and Economic Development Director for the Licking County Chamber of Commerce to join the Clinton County Port Authority. He has been there since April of 2012. Successes at that position included “taking a new position and making it into a great opportunity,” according to Licking County Chamber President and CEO Cheri Hottinger. The Newark Advocate reported close to $200 million in new investments and more than 1,000 new jobs in the last three years, while also retaining 700 jobs. “I’m proud of the achievement and opportunities our community was able to facilitate in Licking County,” said Evers. “I’m excited and grateful to have the opportunity to serve the Clinton County Port Authority and the community. The Air Park is a remarkable community asset; I look forward to being part of the team that leverages this, and many other community assets, to bring investment and opportunity to Clinton County.” Evers indicated his work often has involved collaboration and working with multiple organizations and individuals to create success. He expects the same opportunities will be available in Clinton County. With over 15 years of his career based in southwest Ohio, Evers is familiar with the economic and political environment and as well as the history of the Wilmington Air Park, the 1,900-acre airport/development complex owned by the Port Authority.
