Exel associates with expertise in the 'cold chain' and controlled temperatures handling are based inside the Lima, Peru, airport to directly manage the perishable shipments. Products are shipped all over the world to locations, such as the Netherlands, where Exel can manage the back end of the supply chain.
Since 2001, the company has been handling the shipment of non-perishable items such as textiles and telecommunications products in the region. In 2004, the freight management office in Lima became one of the first freight forwarding organizations in Latin America to receive official certification from the Business Anti-Smuggling Coalition (BASC). This certification addresses the increasing problem of concealing contraband and drugs in commercial trade.
