With a 5,000 square meter expansion of the current air cargo terminal at Landvetter airport customers can look forward to even higher levels of efficiency, quality and security when the construction is finished at the end of 2008. The expansion is a result of an agreement between SAS Cargo's handling company, Spirit Air Cargo Handling and Nordic Airport Properties.

Gothenburg airport is situated strategically very well in the middle of Scandinavia in a highly industrialized region close to Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen. This makes it interesting for many air cargo operators, says Anders Skantz, who is managing director for Spirit Air Cargo Handling Sweden.

He explains that the current situation forces them to reject customers due to lack of capacity. He therefore looks forward to doubling the capacity and expects that more air cargo operators will choose Landvetter as destination in the future.

Spirit Air Cargo Handling is the biggest supplier of air cargo handling in Scandinavia. The company operates 12 terminals within Scandinavia and was established as an independent legal entity owned by SAS Cargo Group in 2006. Spirit Air Cargo Handling is both ISO 9001 and 14001 certified.
