Transaction marks first investment by Fund III and Fenway's 14th acquisition in transportation and logistics sector

Fenway Partners, a leading middle market private equity firm, announced an agreement to partner with RoadLink's senior management team and acquire RoadLink USA, Inc., the leading national independent intermodal trucking service provider. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

With a network of 50 service locations from coast-to-coast and the combined capacity of 1,500 trucks, RoadLink USA is the largest independent intermodal trucking service provider in North America. RoadLink moves containers or trailers from/to the customer to/from the rail yard or the port, providing an integral and highly efficient link in the flow of goods from manufacturer to the end-customer. The company's primary customers are ocean container ship lines, intermodal marketing companies, transportation logistics firms, railroads and large national and multi-national shippers.

Fenway is well known as an active investor in the transportation and logistics sector. It acquired RoadLink USA through its most recent private equity fund, Fenway Partners Capital Fund III. The acquisition represents the first investment by this fund, and Fenway's fourteenth investment overall in the transportation and logistics sector.

'RoadLink USA is a profitable, market-leading business with significant potential in a dynamic industry. It has a demonstrated history of strong revenue growth, making it a perfect match with Fenway's disciplined investment approach,' said Marc Kramer, Managing Director, Fenway Partners. 'Intermodal trucking is a unique market niche that has experienced significant growth in recent years. The prospects for continued growth are excellent, as the amount of imported goods continue to rise. With its national scale, sophisticated technology and high service levels, RoadLink is uniquely positioned to remain at the forefront of this fast-growing sector of the transportation industry.'

John Anderson, Fenway Partners' transportation and logistics operating affiliate, will become Chairman of RoadLink USA. Anderson commented, 'We see significant opportunities to extend RoadLink's functionality, further enhance customer service and expand its geographic presence. The company has a talented management team, many of whom participated in the initial formation of RoadLink in 2000. We look forward to working with them to build upon RoadLink's industry-leading position and superior reputation.'

Ronald Sorrow, Chief Executive Officer, RoadLink USA, said, 'We are very pleased to join with Fenway Partners and its team of investment professionals. Blending RoadLink USA's infrastructure and management skills with Fenway's expertise in transportation, distribution and logistics, will help extend RoadLink's franchise and take the company to the next level of operational excellence and financial performance. With Fenway as our partner, we are now well-positioned to accelerate the growth of the company's truck capacity and quickly begin expanding our service network and operations on a much broader scale.'
