FESCO Transportation Group, the number one logistics provider to Russia, announced that it has recently been transporting Deere Hitachi forestry excavators from the Port of Everett to John-Deere Construction and Forestry in Russia. Deere-Hitachi Specialty Products, based in British Columbia, moves approximately 20-30 excavators per year to various locations in Russia, including Bratsk, Khabarovsk and Irkutsk. According to Jason Jia, Supply Management and Order Fulfillment Supervisor, John Deere Hitachi Forestry Division, his company was investigating the potentials of sending its forestry excavators to Russia’s Far East side from the West Coast and FESCO’s name came up instantly.
‘FESCO has comprehensive, frequent and fast service from the West Coast to the Far East. Our machines are big and heavy and not many shipping companies can handle them,’ said Jia. ‘But FESCO Transportation Group has a lot experience of transporting heavy machines and their service is very good between the West Coast and Russian Far East. Now our customers are very happy with this service and 80% of our Russian machines go this route.’ ‘Sometimes we have a very tight production schedule to Russia and FESCO helped us with flexible deadline of delivery and loading,’ said Jia. ‘Also, different models of our machines have slightly different over-all dimensions and FESCO worked out a competitive rate which made our freight calculation very easy.’
