Long-time port user recognized for growth opportunities Norfolk, VA – The Port of Virginia is proud to announce that Fornazor International Inc., a steadily growing exporter of agricultural commodities is the 2017 recipient of the Shipper of the Year award. The port presents this annual award at the Virginia Maritime Association International Trade Symposium to recognize a port-user that works with the port and other stakeholders to make The Port of Virginia better for all users. The award was presented to Fornazor’s CEO John Fornazor by John F. Reinhart, CEO and executive director of the Virginia Port Authority. For its work the company last year received the President’s “E” Award for Exports, which is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports. New Jersey-based Fornazor has been exporting its products through The Port of Virginia for nearly 30 years and is one of the port’s fastest-growing users. Through multiple subsidiary companies, one being ARREFF Terminals in Portsmouth, Fornazor directs the majority of its exports to the port and this trend will continue. Fornazor is preparing to open a new transload facility in the Kansas City area that will push even more cargo to the port via rail. “Fornazor is always looking for innovative opportunities to grow business at The Port of Virginia and collaborate operationally – like using ARREFF as a start-stop location for pool chassis,” Reinhart said. “Their work and innovation equates to growth and the port is one of the beneficiaries. Their ideas, willingness to listen and faith in our ability to safely and efficiently handle their cargo is truly appreciated.” Fornazor offers a variety of commodities and feed ingredients such as animal proteins, vegetable proteins, marine proteins, whole grains, forage grasses and equine feeds. Throughout the years, Fornazor has developed relationships with leading feed and grain suppliers throughout North America, enabling our feed ingredients product line to grow as we continue to expand and develop.
