(www.freightcenter.com) today announced that it has joined the SmartWay® Transport Partnership, an innovative collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the transportation industry to greatly reduce greenhouse gases and air pollution. As a SmartWay logistics partner, FreightCenter will contribute to the Partnership's goal to lessen the nation’s dependency on fossil fuels, as well as decrease carbon dioxide and nitrogen emissions. Since 2004, SmartWay partners have saved over 7 billion gallons of fuel and reduced carbon emissions by 72.8 million metric tons. “In order to fulfill our mission of ‘Delivering Innovation to Drive Success for All Customers, Partners, and Shipments,’ we have to do our part to build a sustainable future and protect the environment.
