Bangkok, Thailand - X2 member, Project Cargo & Yacht Transport carried out an operation involving the move of a fleet of new airport vehicles to several destinations throughout Turkey. Thıs is another succesful transport operation added to 251 completed projects by PCYT.
The operation was managed from the Port of Vigo, Spain to three destinations in Turkey.  PCYT utilized  combined logistics transportation methods involving truck and sea transference, making the entire cross-country move seamless and successful. Road permits, escort, insurance and the provision of trucks according to the cargo needs were arranged and implemented.  The cargo was transported via road en route for the port of Vigo and was transloaded to an ocean vessel. Delivered to two Istanbul Airports and Antalya Airport in Turkey, the freight consisted of seven units of Cobus model airport passenger automobiles.  Cobus automobiles are airport transportation vehicles that comfortably fit in 112 passengers. It is more than twice as large as normal airport passenger vehicles that are only capable of carrying 50 commuters. Each vehicle has the dimensions of L 13,8 x W 3 x H 3,3 built with a full-aluminum body. The airport transportation bus weighs 11 tonnes each and is expected to render up to 25 years of service.
The Cobus 3000 is built with a special low floor framework which is best for passengers of all ages. This though resulted to a logistical challenge with ground clearance at only 16cm. Accordingly, special handling equipment and techniques were prepared by X2 member PCYT. Despite the setback, all vehicles were transported without damage and in good condition.
