Staten Island NY - As the leading provider of customer-focused service in North America, GCT USA has welcomed the maiden call of the new North-South NAE/ACX service to GCT New York on 28 June 2015.
Operated by SeaLand and APL, the expanded NAE/ACX service connects the largest East Coast market to the carriers’ broader network on the West Coast of South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The weekly service, designed with shippers requiring refrigerated service in mind, will call GCT New York, the only facility with an on-dock customs exam station and agriculture quarantine inspection warehouse in the port of New York and New Jersey. “GCT New York boasts the quickest truck turnaround times in the harbor and first class reefer customer service,” said Bob Nixon, VP Operations of GCT New York. “Awarding us this newest service demonstrates APL and SeaLand’s confidence in our proven ability to deliver an efficient product.” Efraín Osorio, Head of Latin America Trade at APL noted, “The introduction of the NAE/ACX provides the tri-states even greater access to the Americas market through our network of transshipment hubs. We are especially pleased the terminal has provided us room to grow our business in the North Atlantic region.” “With our ‘can do spirit’ we develop strong partnerships, such as the one with APL and GCT, to enhance the scope and reach of our services connecting the Americas,” said Craig Mygatt, CEO of SeaLand. “GCT New York’s expanded reefer facility is a good addition to our already comprehensive reefer support offering for our customers.”
