Peter Güttinger takes over Swiss Air & Sea Country Management at the international logistics company Gebrüder Weiss. Lauterach / Zurich, 9 November 2016. Peter Güttinger is the new Country Manager of Gebrüder Weiss Air & Sea Switzerland. In this role, the long-standing logistics expert will be responsible for the nationwide air and sea freight business at Gebrüder Weiss. The 46-year-old will operate from the terminal at Zurich Airport and report directly to Michael Büchele, Gebrüder Weiss Air & Sea Regional Manager Europe. "We are delighted to welcome Peter Güttinger as a member of our team. As a long-standing air and sea freight expert with excellent knowledge of the Swiss and international market, he is predestined for his forthcoming duties in our company," says Michael Büchele. Peter Güttinger has been familiar with the logistics industry ever since he was a commercial employee during his apprenticeship in a Swiss freight forwarding company. He quickly specialised in the air and sea freight business and held international positions in France and the USA before his career brought him back to Switzerland. There he took on management positions in the air and sea sector in a number of international logistics groups. In his most recent position at the American Chemicals Group Sigma-Aldrich, he was based at the St. Gallen location and responsible for freight management for Europe, Africa and the Near East. "It was in this capacity that I first collaborated with Gebrüder Weiss as a customer. At that time, the directness and above all, the reliability of the company made a lasting impression on me. Such a lasting impression that I am now part of the company. As the new Country Manager of the Swiss Air & Sea department I would like to continue to pursue this very concept of "Service Excellence" and to establish Gebrüder Weiss even more successfully on the Swiss market," says Peter Güttinger.
