Yusen Logistics Russia has been appointed by General Motors DAT/CIS to provide final mile inbound delivery services in Russia. This new business represents a further step in the development of the relationship between GM and Yusen Logistics in Russia, with the third-party logistics provider (3PL) now providing delivery solutions for service parts for the Opel, Chevrolet and Cadillac brands. With a wide range of parts being moved into Russia, the Yusen Logistics service involves the following supply chain elements: · The movement of GM Korea and SPOI containers to the Moscow or Yekaterinburg Parts Distribution Centers (PDC) from St. Petersburg port · The storage of non-bonded containers at the container yard · The movement of GM UZ containers arriving in Moscow by rail to the Moscow PDC · The movement of Korean containers arriving at Yekaterinburg by rail to the Yekaterinburg PDC This contract builds on Yusen Logistics Russia’s previous experience working with GM, which commenced in 2011 with warehousing operations at Saint-Petersburg for General Motors Auto. In 2013, the operations were expanded to include ex-works transportation services from Thailand to Moscow via Saint-Petersburg for General Motors CIS.
