Allows 10% Weight Variance for Grain Haulers for 45 Days Must Get an IDOT Permit to Run State Roads, Must also Get Permit from Township, Municipal and County Road Officials  Governor Bruce Rauner issued a Harvest Emergency declaration this afternoon, which allows truck operators a 10% weight variance for those moving crops from the field.  The declaration is very restrictive - it allows the variance on state highways (not interstate highways) only.   Haulers must also get permits from local road jurisdictions if they intend to haul above legal weight limits. This is a very controlled situation.  It is not intended for non-harvest related moves.
