It will take place May 16-18, 2018 in the Baltimore Convention Center.  GreenPort Congress America provides Senior Executives with a meeting place to share and discuss the latest in sustainable development and environmental practice within sea ports, terminals and their associated logistics supply chains. The two-and-a-half-day conference will contain a range of themes from smarter ports, land redevelopment to the challenges of intermodal connections. Session formats will include interactive presentations, discussion panels, case studies, networking opportunities and will conclude with an exclusive tour of the Port of Baltimore on the final day.  Over the past decade, the Congress has been held in European locations including Hamburg, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Venice and Amsterdam and has become an increasingly international event with delegates from more than 30 countries in 2016. The launch of the America edition further expands this platform and presents a great opportunity for businesses wishing to connect with this influential audience.  Baltimore was chosen as the ideal partner for the first US edition as it has a multifaceted sea port with terminals dealing with automobiles, containers, farm and construction equipment, forest products, breakbulk cargo and cruise passengers. The Port was recently named one of the fastest-growing ports in North America by the Journal of Commerce following its recognition as the most efficient container port in the United States and is central to economic activity on the east coast. The Port of Baltimore combines its enviable growth with a strong commitment to meeting its obligations for improved air and water quality and ensuring protection for the environment whilst building international business. Andrew Webster, CEO of Mercator Media Ltd, comments, “After working with the great port cities in Europe, the GreenPort Conference has evolved to make a central contribution to the debate about how to strike the right balance between environment considerations with the realities of economic demands. We are very much looking forward to the opportunity of producing our first GreenPort America in Maryland, working with the Port of Baltimore and the Maryland Department of Transportation.”
