Breakbulk cargo is nothing unusual for Hamburg Süd and a 39 foot passenger boat for Pago Pago in American Samoa is the latest example. Our photo shows the boat being placed on deck onto a trailer on board the Hamburg Süd operated “Cap Tapaga” in Oakland. The boat, built by Armstrong Marine Inc., in Port Angeles, WA was delivered waterside and loaded directly onboard the “Cap Tapaga”. Hamburg Süd provides fortnightly sailings from Los Angeles and Oakland directly to Papeete/Tahiti, Apia/Samoa and Pago Pago/American Samoa with transshipment service to Suva/Fiji, Nuku’alofa/Tonga and other islands in the South Pacific.
