Company now offers door-to-door service across the US

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Inc. announced the launch of its Domestic operations. Designed to provide door-to-door delivery to virtually any address in the US, the new product offers customers a domestic supply chain, which is fully integrated with their international operations.

Hellmann's Domestic operation opens up many opportunities within the $11 trillion US domestic market. More specifically, it allows Hellmann to serve small, mid-size and fortune 500 companies. Initially, some of the industries that Hellmann is looking to penetrate are those of trade shows, apparel and electronics businesses, among others.

"This was the piece that Hellmann was missing to become a full service provider," expressed Frank Scheibner, President and CEO of Hellmann USA. "We wanted to offer our customers the broadest portfolio of transportation and logistics services available from a single source. The plan is to offer our domestic clients the same speed, flexibility and quality service that we provide our international customers."

Headquartered in Miami, FL, the domestic operation is supported by a newly created National Service Center (NSC) based in Seattle, WA. The center acts as a customer service support hub for Hellmann's 18 branches as well as for those cities where the company does not have offices.

The NSC is equipped with an IT technology platform that provides instant shipment tracking via Internet on a real- time basis, as well as electronic billing through a partnership with a leading IT company.

"The NSC is a focal point in establishing a competitive advantage in the domestic market," commented Brian McConaghy, VP Domestic Operations, Hellmann USA. "By centralizing the operation, we are able to offer synergy, speed, and accuracy as well as support to all the cities where today, Hellmann is not physically present; thus allowing us to reach every corner of the USA in real time."

As part of the complete bundle, the new product also offers flexible service, pricing and technology; and a series of options to chose from such as next flight out, next business day, second business day, deferred -3-5 business day, and delivery deadline service.

"We see an immediate advantage for our existing customers as well as potential customers to have access to a single logistics and IT platform from which they base their supply chain needs," stated McConaghy. "Hellmann's flexibility, customer specific programs as well as our proven success as a high quality international logistics provider should attract those domestic customers looking for an alternative to the huge global conglomerates currently dominating domestic transportation in the US."

Last but not least, for McConaghy the success of this project is also based on Hellmann's high-performance team. "Our trained and motivated workforce makes the difference and is as important as all the necessary technology tools to run the business."
