Kanban Logistics, a North Carolina-based third party logistics provider serving the Mid-Atlantic Region, has received a certificate of registration for the AS9100 quality standard – the quality management system recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration as the standard for the aerospace industry. Major aerospace manufacturers and suppliers worldwide require compliance and/or registration to AS9100 as a condition of doing business with them.  The certification applies to warehousing and logistics operations and was awarded by Management Certification of North America (MCNA), an accredited certification body of the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB). The AS9100 certification encompasses all provisions of the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard, plus additional aerospace-related quality requirements.   “Kanban has delivered high-quality logistics services to aerospace companies for many years,” said Kanban president, William Wooten. “This certification gives current and future customers an even higher degree of confidence that we have processes, procedures and systems built to the exacting standards of the aerospace and defense industry.” According to Wooten, Kanban strongly believes in maintaining outside accreditations as an objective measure of the company’s operational rigor.  Kanban’s other achievements include:
  • Compliance with the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), which develops and adopts measures that add security to guard against illegal smuggling of dangerous cargo by terrorists
  • Superior rating by AIB International, which audits warehouses and other companies to ensure the clean and safe handling of food products
  • Certified as a general purpose foreign trade zone
