The new trucks are easier to handle and more comfortable for those long hours on the road. SCRANTON, PENNSYLVANIA - Third party logistics company Kane Is Able, Inc. (KANE – http://www.kaneisable.com) announced today that it has expanded its fleet with the purchase of 30 new Kenworth T680 trucks. The T680 employs a suite of technologies and design features that create a safer, more efficient and more comfortable driving experience. The Kenworth T680 has received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWay Designation. KANE expects longer service intervals, increased uptime, lower operating costs, and higher resale value with these new trucks, which feature the fuel-efficient PACCAR MX-13 engine. Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), in combination with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), enables the Paccar MX13 to boast near zero emissions. An advanced truck design reduces in-cab noise levels significantly for a more comfortable driving environment. “We’re making this investment because we know these trucks are more reliable for KANE and our customers, more comfortable for our drivers, cleaner for the environment, and safer for everyone,” said Senior Transportation Director, Lawrence Catanzaro. William Brill, a KANE driver for over 5 years, added, “The new trucks are easier to handle and more comfortable for those long hours on the road.” KANE operates 25 distribution centers – 8 million square feet – in major markets across the United States. KANE’s Northeast and Southeast regional truck fleet includes 150 power units and 600 trailers. In 2014, the fleet traveled 7.8 million miles and delivered 1.2 billion pounds of retail goods to market.
