Kansas City Southern (KCS) and its subsidiaries announced that D. Morris Godwin has been appointed assistant vice president premium operations.

Mr. Godwin is responsible for managing operations and equipment requirements for the intermodal and automotive business units.

'Morris has a strong background in national and international transportation logistics. He knows what customers expect and has the experience to make it happen, which is important to the growth of KCS's International Intermodal Corridor between the US and Mexico' said executive vice president sales and marketing Daniel W. Avramovich.

Mr. Godwin has more than 25 years of transportation experience in developing new business, leveraging long-term client relationships, and creating core drayage strategies to coordinate rail and truck operations, maintenance, and wholesale and retail sales organizations. He has worked for companies such as Pacer International, Trism Specialty Carriers, Unicon International, APL and Norfolk Southern.

Mr. Godwin holds a bachelor of science from Georgia State University.
