Konecranes has received a repeat order for 3 Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG) cranes from Haifa Port Company in Israel. With this delivery, Haifa Port Company will operate a total of 15 Konecranes RMGs. This batch of 3 cranes will be delivered at the end of 2016 to early 2017. The order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2014 and the parties involved have agreed not to disclose the value of the order.  “These RMG cranes were options to the original contract,” says Jussi Sarpio, General Manager, RMG Cranes, Konecranes/Port Cranes. “I’m glad to receive this repeat order. It shows that we performed well with the initial deliveries, and that the cranes are delivering the performance and reliability needed by Haifa Port Company.” The RMGs will work in container yard operations, lifting 1-over-5 containers high with a lifting capacity of 40 tons and a railspan of 32 m. Like the majority of the Konecranes RMGs already working at the Haifa container terminal, the new RMGs will be equipped with Active Load Control for high stacking productivity and DGPS skew control. They will also be equipped with Konecranes’ TRUCONNECT® remote monitoring system. “Konecranes RMGs are very productive, reliable cranes that we depend on to serve our customers well,” says Gil Friedler, Head of Design and Development, Haifa Port Company.
