Port of New Orleans President and CEO Gary LaGrange was recently named to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Advisory Council on Trade and Transportation. Members are responsible for providing advice, insight, and industry intelligence to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

Participants of the advisory councils are senior level executives with extensive industry knowledge and ability. The council will meet formally twice per year and council members will serve on a two year basis. The council meetings will provide an opportunity for members to express their views on economic policy, to gain increased knowledge of the Federal Reserve, and to interact with the other members of the Council.

“It’s an honor and privilege to serve on such a distinguished Council,” LaGrange said. “I hope to garner insight from the Federal Reserve and my fellow members, which can be of use to the entire port community in New Orleans.” The other members appointed to the Trade and Transportation Advisory Board include: Dr. David Altig, Senior Vice President and Research Director, FRB Atlanta; Dr. John Robertson, Vice President, FRB Atlanta; Chris Oakley, Vice President and Regional Executive, FRB Jacksonville; Mike Chriszt, Assistant Vice President, FRB Atlanta; Sarah Arteaga, Economic and Financial Education Specialist, FRB Jacksonville; Gail Cooper, Boyd Brothers Transportation; Reid Dove, AAA Cooper Transportation, Inc.; Kathe Falls, Georgia Department of Economic Development; Clarence Gooden, CSX Corporation; John Hourihan, Crowley Maritime Corporation; Scott McWilliams, Ozburn-Hessey Logistics, Richard Wainio; Tampa Port Authority.
