Lone Star Overnight, a Texas-based regional overnight package delivery company, has announced that its 2010 published rates will continue to be significantly below those of national package carriers.

Thanks in part to a multi-million-dollar information technology system upgrade that enables the company to optimize delivery routes and increase asset utilization, Lone Star Overnight is upholding its commitment to providing reliable, efficient regional overnight delivery service at a lower price than the competition.

''In this challenging economy, our ability to have the lowest published rates is welcomed news to shippers in our service area that includes every ZIP code throughout the Lone Star State and communities in Oklahoma, Louisiana and New Mexico,' said Lone Star Overnight's Vice President of Sales Lynn Perucca. 'We're proud of our ability to continue to guarantee next-day delivery at a competitive price point.'

Here's how Lone Star Overnight's 2010 rates compare to those of the major national package delivery companies:

  • LSO 8:30 AM Priority Service is up to 43% lower.
  • LSO 10:30 AM Priority Service is up to 53% cheaper.
  • LSO 3:00 PM Priority Service is up to 52% less.

LSO's Ground Service is also lower than the national carriers for every package weight and zone in the LSO service area, including Multi-Pak(SM) multi-package shipment rates.

Additionally, Lone Star Overnight will continue its long-standing policy of not assessing customers weekly pick-up fees or delivery area surcharges.
