PilotsEYE.tv shows the manufacture, collection and transfer of the brand-new Boeing 777F The film team of director Thomas Aigner accompanied the birth of Lufthansa Cargo's fifth Boeing 777, registration code D-ALFE, for three months. The film shows the freighter from fascinating perspectives: from its manufacture, to being sold, up to the ferry flight from the Boeing hangar in Seattle to its new home airport in Frankfurt. The DVD containing the film and numerous bonus features has been commercially available since 9th September.
Claus Richter, Triple Seven Chief Pilot with Lufthansa Cargo, and his colleague Manfred Schridde, Technical Pilot of the B777 fleet with Lufthansa Cargo, are the (human) protagonists of the film. Both flight captains explain the most important stages on the way to the creation of a new aircraft. "We are excited to be part of this fantastic production with Lufthansa Cargo for the second time", says Claus Richter. The D-ALFE was already the third Triple Seven that he had flown to Frankfurt fresh from the factory. In the course of the “Lufthansa Cargo 2020” future programme the cargo airline had ordered five Triple Sevens in total which, thanks to their lower noise and fuel emissions points, are more eco-efficient and therefore more economical than all other freighters in their class. The first Boeing 777F started its service with the cargo airline in November 2013. "PilotsEYE.tv enables everyone to experience the 'fascination of flight'", explains Thomas Aigner, managing director of AignerMEDIA, regarding the concept behind his film series. Passengers, aviation fans and anyone else who wishes to finally experience a flight from the cockpit can get their money's worth. Closer than ever before.
