Menlo Logistics, the US$1.7 billion global logistics and supply chain management subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE; CNW), has announced the promotion of Brian Murphy to Senior Director of Business Development - Emerging Markets. In this new role, Murphy will be responsible for leading the profitable growth of two existing emerging market verticals, currently defined as health care and upstream oil and gas. Additionally, through collaboration with emerging markets operations leadership and vertical industry vice presidents and executive leadership, Murphy will set Menlo’s strategic direction for expansion in these sectors. “Brian is uniquely qualified to take on this important new position for Menlo,” said Carl Fowler, vice president of North America field sales and solutions at Menlo Logistics. “He has a proven track record of improving clients’ global supply chain operations and in this new role, he’ll be able to provide even greater strategic insight and innovation for Menlo.” Murphy joined the company in 2011 as director of business development for the consumer and industrial vertical. In that capacity, he successfully led Menlo into the oil and gas sector and has positioned the company for growth in the health care sector in 2015. He is a graduate of Winona State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He is based at Menlo’s National Transportation Management Center in Aurora, Illinois.
