Menzies Aviation has appointed Jonathan Clark as CEO of its subsidiary Air Menzies International (AMI), the world's leading neutral airfreight and express wholesaler. He will join AMI in January 2018. Clark has spent over 30 years in the airfreight sector, holding positions with MSAS Cargo lnternational (now part of DHL), Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, DB Schenker and (most recently) Cargolux Airlines, where he has served as Africa Director since 2016. Forsyth Black, President and Managing Director of Menzies Aviation, says: “We wanted a recognised expert in the cargo market to lead AMI into the next stage of its development; and, in Jon, I'm delighted to say that we got him. The road ahead of AMI is an exciting one; I’m sure Jon will relish the opportunity to take the business forward." Adds Jonathan Clark: “I am truly excited about the prospect of leading AMI, an organization that I have watched grow over the years. Most of all, I am looking forward to leading a team that is quality-driven, customer-focused and has given AMI its excellent name in the market. The AMI team and I will concentrate on ways in which we can innovate and grow the business to be ready for the ever-changing custorner demands in this competitive market place.” AMI provides freight forwarders and courier companies with wholesale capacity at highly-competitive rates, along with ancillary services such as security screening and Customs brokerage. Since its launch in 1976, AMI has grown from a single UK operation to establish its own bases at 27 locations around the globe, supported by a network of service partners in over 120 other markets. AMI’s proposition is founded on strict trade-only neutrality, achieved by serving only freight intermediaries with a choice of services and destinations.
