In response to growing customer demand, the new AMI gateway is offering all products currently available through its existing USA network:  airport-to-airport, airport-to-door, and door-to-door services with the option of direct or consolidation pricing. In addition, Miami agents have access to AMI’s established, all-inclusive online service, click2ship. AMI Miami provides a local cargo reception and handout point for agents, saving them the time and cost of delivering to and collecting from individual carriers’ terminals. Scheduled express road feeders are also operated to and from other major US airports. AMI Miami is managed by Jeff Intriago, who comments: “Miami was a gap in our USA coverage that we have now filled. It’s an important market, which now has its own access to AMI’s global trade-only export and import services. This will enable Miami freight agents to compete on equal terms with their larger competitors.” Among the diverse shipments handled immediately following AMI’s opening in Miami have been eight urgent AOG (aircraft on ground) shipments to Africa, five tonnes of food supplements to Brazil and an aircraft engine to Dublin. AMI Miami joins a network of six other gateways in the USA (New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and Dallas) and 17 other locations throughout Australasia, Europe, South Africa, Asia and the Far East; these are complemented by a network of service partners at 220 further locations.
