Mr. Swinburne focuses on complex transportation finance deals internationally, with focus in Europe, Middle East/Africa and Asia; Milbank’s global transportation group handles large financing, M&A, leasing, asset sales and related matters on every continent LONDON/NEW YORK - Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy has strengthened its global aviation and shipping finance capabilities with the addition of Nick Swinburne as a London-based partner with the Transportation and Space Group.  Working on transactions worldwide, Mr. Swinburne handles large aviation, shipping and other transportation deals on behalf of financial institutions, aircraft leasing companies, airlines, equity investors and arrangers. His deals, which have won multiple awards from transport industry publications, include acquisitions and disposals of assets and asset portfolios, mergers, sophisticated financing and leasing transactions, and structured finance work, including asset-backed securities offerings and enhanced equipment trust certificates (EETC’s).  Mr. Swinburne also handles restructurings and distressed situations, secondary trading and repackagings and is known for his export credit and trade finance work. He joins Milbank from the London office of Clifford Chance, where he was a partner.
