TOKYO - MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. (President: Tetsuya Minato) today announced that it has submitted an application with the Indian government to establish a subsidiary in India. The subsidiary will take over the logistics business from Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (India) Pvt. Ltd., and start operation in six cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmadabad, Bangalore, and Pune on April 3. The registered headquarters is located in Mumbai, and in addition to serving the clusters of Japanese companies in India, the new subsidiary will provide Purchase Order Management and Cargo Consolidation services to various U.S. and European customers through MOL Consolidation Service Ltd in the country. In India, which has a population of over 1.3 billion and is maintaining a strong annual GDP growth rate of more than 7%, the MOL Logistics Group will meet a wide variety of customer needs by making full use of its global network and logistics-know how such as air and ocean transport, cross-border transport with neighboring countries, domestic transportation, warehousing, customs clearance, moving services, and plant and project cargo transportation. The establishment of the subsidiary in India increases the MOL Logistics network to 27 companies in 25 countries with a total of 117 business sites. Under the banner of "One MOL," the MOL Logistics Group will enhance ties throughout the MOL Group.
