Mediterranean Shipping Company SA of Geneva, Switzerland announced the opening of a new direct service extension to the Pacific Northwest.

Commencing with the sailing of the MSC Vienna V.34A from Gioia Tauro on the 29th of December 2010 and with the arrival in Vancouver on January 29th and in Seattle on January 30th, MSC will provide an extension to the existing California Express service by calling directly at the ports of Seattle and Vancouver.

The revised port rotation will be:
Gioia Tauro, Napoli, Civitavecchia, La Spezia, Valencia, Cristobal, Balboa, Long Beach, Oakland, Vancouver, Seattle, Oakland, Long Beach, Balboa, Cristobal, Gioia Tauro.

This new service enhancement will enable MSC to offer excellent transit times to and from all key markets in the world, together with continuing excellent worldwide transhipment connections via Balboa, Cristobal, Gioia Tauro and Valencia.

Between its already existing extensive coverage of USA and Canadian ports the introduction of these new direct calls in Seattle and Vancouver, MSC will now consolidate its position as one of the premier carriers offering comprehensive port coverage, schedule integrity and excellent transit times to and from the USA and Canada.
