ATLANTA - National DCP, (NDCP) the $2 billion supply chain management cooperative serving the franchisees of Dunkin’ Donuts, today announced the promotion of two executive team members – Gene Long to President of Distribution, and Darrell Riekena to Chief Information Officer/Chief Operating Officer. “Following the fantastic delivery of our Mission in 2015, National DCP is realigning our leadership and corporate resources to better advance the goals of the business,” said Scott Carter, National DCP Chief Executive Officer. “Promoting Gene and Darrell will allow us to execute our vision of the future with agility and certain success.” Gene Long, a 40-year veteran of supply chain management, joined NDCP as Chief Operating Officer in December 2014. In his new role as President of Distribution, he will focus more sharply on all of the assets of the business in terms of transportation and warehouse operations. Long’s previous executive roles included Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Cardinal Health, Founder and President of UPS Consulting, President and COO of SiteStuff, Founder and President of BAX Global and National Director in Strategy & Operations at Deloitte Consulting. In the dual role of the Chief Information Officer/Chief Operating Officer, Darrell Riekena now focuses on leading business process alignment and evolution across multi-functional teams, information technology, the implementation of strategic initiatives and change management activities with a focus on growth, speed and agility. His key responsibilities include spearheading the award-winning Project Freshstart IT and business transformation initiative and overseeing IT platforms which serve the company’s headquarters, nationwide distribution network and more than 8,900 Dunkin’ restaurants. Prior to joining NDCP as Chief Information Officer in January 2013, Riekena held global technology and business leadership roles at Target Corporation, Kroger Company, LimitedBrands Inc. and JCPenney Company.
