The company already has a significant presence and business base in Australasia, having merged with well-known consolidator UAC in April 2007. It recently adopted the AMI brand at all of its 9 locations in the USA, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
AMI provides trade-only airfreight and ocean FCL and LCL services from New Zealand and Australia to Fiji, Samoa, American Samoa, Port Vila, Noumea, Papeete, Nuku Alofa and Raratonga. The company also has long-standing airfreight and ocean transshipment business originating from its European and USA bases. It has also developed a successful transshipment program from Asia into the Pacific Islands.
In his new role, Farnan will be responsible for sales and marketing of all AMI services from worldwide points of origin to destinations across the entire Pacific Islands region, involving traveling for some 20 weeks a year.
Farnan's freight industry career has included 8 years with Ports of Auckland, eight years with Pacific Forum Line, and periods in freight forwarding and perishables shipping.
