He began his involvement with C2K's quality management system for air cargo in 1997 as Schenker's representative in the group before taking up the full-time post of Program Director with Cargo 2000 in 2003. As its membership and quality program expanded, he went on to assume the role of Regional Director, EMEA.
Lothar Moehle's career in the freight transport and logistics sector spans 40 years, working in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for leading road transport, forwarding and integrated carrier organizations. Before joining Cargo 2000, he headed the Schenker department responsible for managing relationships with the company's overseas partners.
When he leaves C2K at the end of July, Lothar will return to DB Schenker's headquarters in Germany to take up a new assignment that combines both quality and security responsibilities.
Mattijs ten Brink, Chairman of Cargo 2000, said: 'Lothar has been at the forefront of C2K's development for 15 years and has made an outstanding contribution to the success of our quality standard. As well as helping companies to implement, audit and improve their quality systems, Lothar has represented C2K all over the world and helped us grow to a point where today, 75% of all air cargo is managed by a C2K member. We wish him every success in his new role at DB Schenker and thank him for ensuring that C2K is now in its strongest ever position.'
Lothar said: 'It has been a great honor for me to be part of Cargo 2000's program to improve the quality of air cargo and I am extremely proud of what our members have achieved. I hope I have played a useful role in establishing C2K as the quality organization for air cargo and I can only see C2K gaining in strength given its important role within the IATA efreight program and the continued commitment of members who see the cost, service and reputation benefits of this great quality system. I wish to thank all of my friends and colleagues for their great support over the past 15 years.'
