Jeffrey Tucker, CEO of Tucker Company and Chairman of the Traffic Club of Philadelphia's Annual Industry Night Dinner, has announced that John Ficker, president of the National Industrial Transportation League (NITL), will be the guest speaker at this year's function. The dinner will take place October 25 at the Union League in Philadelphia. Ficker will be speaking to the Club about the regulatory environment, threats, opportunities and related upheaval in the transportation industry.

Ficker has over 33 years experience in the transportation industry having served most recently as the Logistics Development Manager for the

Weyerhaeuser Company in Federal Way, Washington. In this position he was responsible for the development and management of legislative positions and regulatory policy. Other major responsibilities have included the negotiation and management of transportation services with suppliers and development of outsourcing operations with third parties.

Prior to his service to Weyerhaeuser, Ficker served as the corporate transportation manager for Publishers Paper Company and before that directed sales and related functions for the Southern Pacific Transportation Company.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Mt. Angel Seminary College in St. Benedict, Oregon. Ficker also serves as a guest lecturer for various Transportation Management programs at the University of Wisconsin.
