The freight forwarding division of Norbert Dentressangle has established a new representative office in Vietnam as part of its continued global expansion.

A subsidiary of Norbert Dentressangle's established Chinese freight forwarding business, the office in Hanoi extends Norbert Dentressangle's presence in Asia and will initially focus on the provision of services between Vietnam and China to support the burgeoning trade between the two countries. According to HSBC, exports from China to Vietnam are forecast to rise by 18% per annum from 2013 to 2015. Vietnam has also recently upgraded its target for exports in 2013 to $126 billion, with China being the third largest importer of products from Vietnam after the US and Japan.

Following a raft of acquisitions and office openings, Norbert Dentressangle now has a major presence in all the world's major trading regions, with a global network of offices strategically located to provide end-to-end management of both sea and air freight from all key economic gateways.

Managing Director of Norbert Dentressangle Overseas, Guillaume Col, said: 'We continue to strengthen our freight forwarding operations in growing markets and the new office in Vietnam gives us a presence in one of the most dynamic emerging countries in the East Asia region.

'In the short term, the new office will enhance the service we offer to customers in China and, over time, will expand to Vietnam's other major trading partners throughout ASEAN and beyond.
