Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. received the 2014 Mastio Award again, leading its category of less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers for the fifth consecutive year. Mastio & Company, a global B2B research and consulting firm, selects the annual winner based on a comprehensive customer satisfaction survey of more than 2,000 industry professionals. The report evaluates shippers’ attitudes about 30 service categories, including pricing, on-time deliveries, quality of service and claims-free shipments. “We pride ourselves in delivering a premium service to our customers. The Mastio Award helps reaffirm this long-held commitment,” said David Congdon, Old Dominion’s CEO and president. “At the end of the day, it’s our people and company culture that sets Old Dominion apart. That approach to business helps fuel our continued growth.” Celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, Old Dominion provides customers with a more than 99 percent on-time service rate and one of the lowest claims rates in the industry. “We applaud Old Dominion for its unyielding commitment to customer service,” said Kevin Huntsman, vice president at Mastio & Company. “The company’s consistently high performance is reflected in the five consecutive years of survey results.” This year, Old Dominion has been honored by a host of other industry recognitions. For example, in 2014 Forbes Magazine named Old Dominion as one of America’s 100 Most Trustworthy Companies; NASSTRAC honored the company as 2014 Carrier of the Year; and Inbound Logistics named the company to its 75 Green Supply Chain Partners (G75) List.
