Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. has opened a pair of container drayage facilities to serve the company’s growing drayage operations. With the new facilities in Front Royal, VA, and Portland, OR, Old Dominion now offers its direct container drayage service from 20 ports as part of its OD-Global service. The company’s National Container Drayage Division can move full container load (FCL) imports or exports and domestic rail shipments directly from any point of origin in the continental United States to and from ports and rail heads at one of its 20 container drayage ports. “Our new drayage facilities in Front Royal and Portland will strengthen our network nationwide,” said Jerry Aaron, Old Dominion’s director of container operations. “The facilities will allow Old Dominion to expand coverage in the Mid-Atlantic and the Pacific Northwest and will also help us meet growing demand from customers who ship domestically and globally.” Old Dominion also operates drayage facilities in Atlanta; Baltimore; Birmingham, Ala.; Charleston, S.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Greensboro, N.C.; Greer, S.C.; Huntsville, Ala.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Los Angeles/Long Beach; Memphis; Mobile, Ala.; Norfolk, Va.; Oakland, Calif.; Savannah, Ga.; Seattle; and Wilmington, N.C. The company’s drayage services include inland container pools and a full range of container related services, including loading, unloading and short term warehousing.
