AAL has successfully delivered and discharged one of the heaviest pieces of cargo carried on its Pacific Service to date. Two LNG tanks weighing 380 tons each and a main engine weighing 384 tons were discharged in the Port of San Diego. The two LNG tanks measured around 26 meters in length and 8.3 meters in width while the heavier main engine piece was around 12 meters long and 5 meters wide. The cargo was loaded on board AAL’s A-Class vessel AAL Singapore in Masan, South Korea in the middle of June.

“We are happy to have had a chance to secure this cargo after some strong competition from other carriers,” said Namir Khanbabi, Managing Director at AAL. “Our vessels are well suited for such heavy cargoes and our Pacific Service offers customers a regular heavy lift liner service. We look forward to more opportunities to carry similar and heavier cargoes into the North American regions.”

AAL’s Pacific Service connects North Asia with West Coast Canada and USA by deploying modern heavy lift A-Class vessels. AAL Singapore is one of AAL’s ten 31,000 deadweight A-Class vessels with combined cranes lifting capacity of 700MT.
