The amount of rainfall in the Canal watershed has received in the past week has made it possible to suspend the second draft restriction that was announced in Advisory to Shipping A-14-2016 and in effect since April 29, 2016. Therefore, the maximum authorized transit draft for vessels transiting the Panamax locks will be increased to 11.89 m (39.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW), effective immediately and until further notice. The ACP will continue to monitor the Gatun Lake level in order to adjust for draft restrictions, and will announce changes in a timely manner.
