DHL, the world’s leading international express services provider, announced that Mike Parra has been appointed to lead the Express organization in the United States as Chief Executive Officer. Parra most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Network Operations for the DHL Express Americas Region. “Mike is a proven leader with a vast amount of successful local and international experience in our industry, great business vision and ability to engage and bring people together,” said Stephen Fenwick, CEO of DHL Express, Americas. “His commitment to service excellence and extraordinary customer-centric approach will serve us well as we continue to invest in our U.S. network for global customers. I am confident that Mike will continue to build upon the success of DHL Express U.S. and reinforce our status as the international specialists.” Mike started his career with DHL Express in 1997 as Service Center Manager in South Florida and quickly progressed through a variety of senior management roles in U.S. Operations including his appointment in 2009 as General Manager and Senior Vice President, where he was responsible for all Operations and Sales activities in the Western United States and Guam. Since 2011, Mike has been responsible for all aspects of the Americas Region network operations. In his new appointment as CEO, Mike will be installed as a member of the U.S. Management Board, as well as remain a member of the Americas Management Board. Prior to DHL, Mike worked for ten years with TNT Express Worldwide, holding positions as Regional Operations Manager, Gateway Manager and General Manager of Latin America and the Caribbean. Mike replaces Ian Clough who served as DHL Express U.S. CEO since 2009.
