Parsons is pleased to announce that its Caldecott Tunnel Fourth Bore project was selected as Project of the Year in the California Transportation Foundation’s (CTF’s) 25th Annual Transportation Awards. The awards recognize excellence in transportation—all modes, representing both the public and private sectors, from all California regions. The project added two new traffic lanes on State Route 24 through the Berkeley Hills, connecting the California cities of Oakland and Orinda. The Parsons team was responsible for preliminary engineering and final design of the tunnel, the operations building, and two associated roadway projects for this $417 million project. “Parsons is proud to see this project recognized as CTF Project of the Year,” said Todd Wager, Parsons Group President. “It relieves traffic congestion on a heavily traveled section of State Route 24 and benefits the entire Bay Area.”
