Penske Logistics has announced that Piet Zoutendijk has been named its new Managing Director of Europe. He will begin August 1 at the company's European headquarters in Roosendaal, The Netherlands.

Zoutendijk succeeds Brian Ruprich, who has been serving as Managing Director of Europe on an interim basis since February 2011. Ruprich will remain in Europe for several months to facilitate a smooth leadership transition and then return to the United States to take on new operational responsibilities within Penske Logistics.

'Brian has done an excellent job for us in Europe and positioned us well for future growth,' said Marc Althen, President of Penske Logistics. 'Piet brings a wealth of logistics segment and local industry expertise to his position. We welcome him to the team.'

Zoutendijk has worked with customers in a broad range of industries including automotive, technology and diversified manufacturing across over two decades in the logistics field. He was most recently Senior Vice President ' Logistics Client Center for DB Schenker, where his customers included international technology corporations. He also held a Managing Director business management role for the company, where he was responsible for operations in seven countries.

Zoutendijk was employed by BAX Global Logistics when it was purchased by DB Schenker in 2006. While at BAX/Schenker, he handled Netherlands-based logistics activities. He served as Director of Marketing/Sales and Customer Service for Cleton before and after it was acquired by BAX. Zoutendijk was also a Transport and Distribution Manager for M.C.C. Nederland BV, and began his career with Efficienta BV in ordering, exporting and purchasing administrative roles.
