State-run Petroperu has launched a tender to sell a 220,000 barrel cargo of fuel for delivery at Talara port on August 1-5, according to an invitation seen by Reuters on Thursday. The oil company, which imports fuels to satisfy the Peruvian domestic demand, often uses the open market to buy and sell crude and products. Last month it bought two 360,000 barrel cargoes of crude that will be received on July 10-27. For this tender, the company said that the cargo can either be fuel oil 9-12 API degrees and maximum 1.4 percent sulfur or heavy fuel oil 8-10.6 API degrees and maximum 1.5 percent sulfur. It added that bids will be received until July 8 and they must be indexed to fuel oil number 6 prices from New York Harbor.
