With the first half of 2006 statistics reported, Port Columbus International Airport and Rickenbacker International Airport show increased activity as compared to 2005 with indications of a strong second half.

From January to June in 2006 Port Columbus passenger traffic increased 0.7% as compared to 2005. Over 3.26 million passengers have utilized Port Columbus in the first half of 2006, which was highlighted by the introduction of daily Los Angeles service by Delta.

Over 114.5 million pounds of cargo moved through Rickenbacker during the first half of 2006 for a 7.7% increase over 2005 activity. Rickenbacker International Airport is a multi-modal cargo airport with a US Foreign-Trade Zone and a global logistics park that features an impressive network of freight forwarders and cargo airlines such as FedEx, UPS, Evergreen International, Kalitta and Atlas. AirNet, a company specializing in on-demand charter services for cargo and passengers, also operates at Rickenbacker International Airport.
