“Over one hundred forty golfers participated in the tournament this year, most from the Freeport and Houston maritime transportation industry, as well as local businesses within the district,” said Port Freeport Executive Director/CEO Phyllis Saathoff.  “It is an honor to host the annual tournament knowing all the proceeds benefit the mariners and truckers that come into contact with our Port community.” This year was another record year in raising funds for Texas Port Ministry and in the number of golfers that participated in the tournament. “The event was a great success and made possible from the generosity of the many sponsors, participants and volunteers,” said Port Commission Chairman Paul Kresta. “The Commission appreciates all the effort that went into the planning and execution of the event.” All the proceeds from the tournament assist Texas Port Ministry in providing their services to the Port community on a daily basis. Texas Port Ministry of Freeport has provided spiritual, social and physical care to the Freeport Harbor Community since 1974 through the efforts of volunteers.  Texas Port Ministry is a 501©3 funded solely from contributions and donations.  To learn more about Texas Port Ministry, please visit www.texasportministry.org.
